College National Team→Overall No. 1 Rookie, AG Gold Hidden Card in 9 Years…First Flight on the 26th

The No. 1 overall draft pick is getting a chance to showcase his skills to basketball fans at an international tournament before turning pro.

Moon Jung-hyun (Korea University, drafted by KT) made waves when he was selected to the national team as a college student.

When he was selected, he was introduced as a senior at Korea University, but now he has one more title to be proud of. Moon was selected by Suwon KT with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 KBL Rookie Draft, which was held at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on April 21.

Moon is a prospect whose name is synonymous with immediacy and power. This earned him a spot on the national team for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. In July, he acclimatized to the national team in an exhibition match against Japan, where he wore the Korean flag.

He was unstoppable on the college level. She is small for a forward, but she is strong and has good basketball sense. He was praised for his all-around presence in defense, rebounding, scoring through penetration, and passing.

In the national team, he will be able to play alongside seniors who will be playing for KT next season. KT players include Ha Yun-ki and Heo Hoon, who is also a member of Commerce. With the addition of Moon Jung-hyun, KT is already expected to be a favorite to win the championship, and these players will be able to get to know each other in advance.

Moon is the youngest member of the team, but he didn’t come to the Asian Games with the intention of relying on his older brothers. “My goal is to win a gold medal. I will do my best to raise the profile of Korean basketball,” he said. 레고토토

His most memorable moment since he started playing basketball has also been his experience with the national team. “The most memorable moment in my career was when I was first selected to the national team’s strengthening training list in 2022 and entered the Jincheon Athletes’ Village,” he said. On the flip side, the most difficult time was his sophomore year of college when he injured his ankle. “Every time I had a hard time, I would think about playing on the court again,” he said.

Moon’s men’s basketball team will take on Indonesia at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 at Zhejiang University’s Jindongang Gymnasium in a Group D matchup. Group D features South Korea, Indonesia, Qatar, and Japan.

Chu Il-seung-ho is aiming to win his fifth Asian Games title in nine years. South Korea last won in Incheon in 2014 with a “theater victory” over a Hamed Hadidi-led Iranian side. Kim Sun-hyung (SK) and Kim Jong-kyu (DB) are veterans of that victory and lead the squad.
