‘King of Incheon’ Mugosa Returns “It was a great game…it was a team effort”

Mugosa made a fantastic home comeback. In his first official match at the Incheon Football Stadium since returning to the K League, the ‘King of Incheon’ scored a goal and an assist to mark his return.

Mugosa started the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 Round 26 home match against Daegu FC at the Incheon Football Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He scored the game’s opening goal and assisted on Gerso’s second goal.

Speaking after the game, Mugosa said, “It was a great game. It was my first home game back in Incheon and I’m really happy to get a goal and an assist. I’m grateful to my teammates and coaches because it was a team effort,” he said.

“The same goes for the people who believed in me. I’m also grateful to the home fans, they made me feel that they love this place,” he smiled.

In this match, Mugosa shared two goals with Jerso and was the “first man” in the team’s victory. “I always knew he was a good player, and now that I’m back in Incheon, he’s the type of player I really like,” he said of the partnership, which is likely to be Incheon’s main attacking route going forward. “He knows how to use space, and I think that will help me a lot. We will enjoy each other’s company on the pitch.”

Since Mugosa’s departure, Incheon has been blessed with the likes of Shin Shin-ho, Mpoku, Gerso, and Hernandez. The team has become so strong that some say it boasts the strongest squad since its inception. Before, the perception was that they only needed to stop Mugosa, but now they have many players who can threaten the opponent’s goal.

“To be honest, there’s nothing different from before,” Mugosa says of his current squad. “It’s true that we have players like Jerso, Lee Myung-joo, and Mpoku who can score goals for us, but the opposition still has a lot of pressure on me,” he said. “But because of the quality of my teammates, someone can score even if it’s not me. I can also score with their help, so that’s the biggest difference,” he said, analyzing the difference between the previous Incheon and the current Incheon.

It was not just the home comeback game that was important for Mugosa. 26 members of the Montenegro Jamboree came to the stadium to cheer him on. “I felt responsible for the Montenegrin team because they were visiting Korea, and I was able to invite them, but I’m so grateful that they came to the stadium to support my team. It was great that the club gave us gifts and gave us the opportunity to meet them at the stadium. I wish them a safe trip to Montenegro.”

He continued, “A few years ago, I played in England with the national team and met two Incheon United fans. It was an amazing experience,” he said, adding, “I think it’s great to be able to meet Montenegrin people from so far away in Korea.” 토토사이트
