‘One goal after joining Jeonbuk’ Park Jae-yong, “I’m under pressure, but I have a long way to go…focus on my mission”
Park Jae-yong showed his determination to focus on the task at hand despite the pressure.
Jeonbuk Hyundai won their third Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) Group F qualifying match of the 2023/24 season 3-0 against Ryan City at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday.
With the three points, Jeonbuk bounced back from an away loss to Bangkok United.
Jeonbuk attacked Ryan City early on, looking to score first and took the lead sooner than expected.
Jeonbuk’s first goal came from Jun Amano. She fired a left-footed shot from near the arc that went in for a goal to put Jeonbuk ahead.
Jeonbuk didn’t stop attacking. In the 33rd minute, they got lucky. After receiving a pass from Amano, Lee Dong-joon sent in a cross from the right flank that beat Ryan City’s Lionel Tan for an own goal.
Jeonbuk’s offense continued in the second half. In the 11th minute of the second half, Lee Dong-joon’s cross from the right flank fell in front of Moon Sun-min, who scored the team’s third goal with a simple shot.
Ryan City was no match for Jeonbuk. They struggled, but it wasn’t enough. With a less-than-destructive offense, they were unable to find the back of the net or even threaten.
Park Jae-yong started up front on this day. He was on a mission to score. And he did just that.
In a post-match interview, Park said, “We were on a two-game winning streak in the league and prepared for the match against Ryan City in a good mood. We energized even the players who didn’t play and won three games in a row. I don’t think we could have gotten any better than that.”
Park Jae-yong opened the scoring with a bold shot on goal. He looked threatening, hitting the post, but it didn’t pay off. 먹튀검증
“As a striker, you are judged by your goals,” Park said. I’m very disappointed that I didn’t get the result. Still, the team won. I’m only sorry for today and will prepare well for the weekend game.”
Park joined Jeonbuk in the summer transfer window from FC Anyang. He made an impact with his debut goal against Incheon United, but hasn’t found the back of the net since.
“I’m disappointed and under a lot of pressure. However, he is not deterred.
Park Jae-yong said, “There is pressure. However, there is a long way to go. I don’t think it’s better if I worry about it. I’m focusing on fulfilling the task given to me through mind control,” he said.
“I have a good relationship with Gustavo off the field. We communicate well,” he said, vowing to work hard to improve his attack, which is something Jeonbuk has been criticized for lacking.
