SON captain’s hat-trick! Burnley thrashing raved about, “a beauty to beat the keeper and break down the defense”
Son Heung-min’s first goal of the season is drawing rave reviews.
Tottenham Hotspur earned a 5-2 victory over Burnley in the fourth round of the 2023/24 English Premier League (EPL) at Turf Moor in Burnley, England, on April 2 at 11:00 p.m. ET.
With the win, Tottenham moved into second place in the EPL behind Manchester City with a record of three wins and one draw.
Spurs head coach Enze Postecoglou made one change. He benched Heung-Min Son in favor of a frontline striker.
After Harry Kane’s departure, it was expected that the Frenchman would quench his thirst for goals, but after a sub-par performance, he was looking to shake things up.

“He can play in the center or on the flanks,” said Postecoglou. He was ideal for the way we played,” said Postecoglou.
With his hat-trick against Burnley, Son scored his 106th goal in the EPL. He also moved up the scoring charts.
He passed Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo on the EPL’s all-time goalscoring list with 103.
In addition to breaking Ronaldo’s record, Son also passed Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Son is now 30th on the EPL’s all-time goals list alongside Darren Bent. Now, he’s looking to break the legendary stamp.
