South Korea announces starting lineup against Hong Kong… ‘Striker’ Park Eun-sun to start at ‘center back’

Veteran forward Park Eun-sun will be on the ‘back line’ instead of the ‘front line’.

The South Korean women’s national team, led by head coach Colleen Bell, will take on Hong Kong in their third Group E match of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games at the Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium in Wenzhou, China, on Monday at 8:30 p.m. (KST).

South Korea, who won both their first and second games to top Group E, will advance to the quarterfinals regardless of the outcome of today’s match. South Korea has won three consecutive bronze medals – Guangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014 and Jakarta-Palembang 2018 – and will be in search of its first ever gold medal at the tournament.

Ahead of the match against Hong Kong, head coach Colleen Bell rotated her squad to ensure a spot in the quarterfinals. Compared to the second leg, nine players were changed, with the exception of goalkeeper Kim Jung-mi and right back Lee Eun-young.

Moon Eun-ju, Jung Seol-bin, Moon Mi-ra, Kwon Ha-neul, Bae Ye-bin, Lee Eun-young, Kim Hye-young, Shim Seo-yeon, Park Eun-sun, and Kim Jung-mi were named in the starting lineup.
