“We can’t afford 50 billion” Man Utd push for loan of ‘WC top four player’…Fiorentina ‘only outright transfer’
Manchester United can’t afford a transfer fee for Sofiane Amrabat and are likely to push for a loan deal. However, Fiorentina want Amrabat outright.
“United are preparing a formal bid to sign Amrabat,” Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the European soccer transfer market, reported on social media on Monday (Aug. 31).
“United have not yet sent any loan offers to Fiorentina and have only held informal talks,” Romano said. Amrabat has been waiting for United since June,” Romano reported on Amrabat’s move to United.
Amrabat made his professional debut for Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie. He then moved to Serie A, where he developed his game with spells at both Atlas Verona and Fiorentina.
Amrabat’s rise to prominence came after his performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last year. Amrabat was one of the key players who led Morocco to their first ever African quarterfinal appearance at the tournament. At the World Cup, he covered the midfield with tireless stamina and acted as an attacking link. When he was in attack, he opened up the play with a powerful mid-range shot.
Based on his performance at the World Cup, Amrabat received a lot of interest. In addition to Manchester United, Spanish giants Barcelona were also targeting Amrabat in the winter transfer window. However, Fiorentina were unable to keep their key midfielder during the season and declared him unsaleable. At the time, Amrabat publicly stated on social media that he wanted to move on.
However, after the end of the season, Fiorentina changed their minds. According to the Daily Mail, Fiorentina are now willing to sell Amrabat for £30 million.
Having added the likes of Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojbjerg and Andre Onana to their squad ahead of the season, the Red Devils are looking to add strength to their midfield with Amrabat. A move for Amrabat would give the Red Devils a quality midfielder in a back three that has lacked reliable options outside of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The Red Devils have also been short on midfield options recently with new signing Martial suffering an injury, so Amrabat would give them more options in the middle.
However, the Red Devils have already spent a lot of money in the transfer market this season and have not been able to sell any of their players, making it difficult for them to buy Amrabat outright, so they should look to loan him out.
In midfield, United have only managed to sell Fred, with the likes of Scott McTominay and Donny Panderbeek still in the squad. If either player is not sold, it will be difficult to bring in new players, and aside from a possible loan for Vanderbeek, there are currently no clubs interested in either player.
Paul Hurst, a reporter for the Times, commented on United’s transfer market situation, “United cannot afford to pay Fiorentina £30 million. They can only take him on loan, but Fiorentina could reject their offer.”
“Fiorentina will only allow an outright sale of Amrabat,” said local media outlets, suggesting that even a loan deal would only be possible with an outright transfer clause. Ultimately, United will need to convince Fiorentina to agree to a loan as they lack the funds to buy Amrabat.
In addition to Amrabat, United are also looking to fill the void left by defender Luke Shaw, who has recently been sidelined with injuries alongside Marc Cucurella and Marcos Alonso. In addition to Shaw, the midfield is also riddled with injuries to Mount, so the team could struggle for a while if they don’t get the right reinforcements in both positions. 스포츠토토
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can turn fans’ fears into expectations by bringing in Amrabat and a defender in the final days of the transfer window.
